Your wounds don't disqualify you

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." — Psalm 147:3

Maybe you carry wounds that no one sees. Pain from a difficult past, broken relationships, words that left their mark on you, mistakes that you can't forget. And perhaps you think that those wounds disqualify you from drawing closer to God.

But Psalm 147 reveals something beautiful: God does not shy away from the broken. He draws near. He is a God who heals broken hearts and binds up wounds. He doesn't ignore them, he doesn't minimize them, he doesn't tell you to "get over it." He takes them carefully, cleanses them with His love, and begins a process of restoration.

To give God time is to give Him access to those areas that you have kept closed. It's opening the door to the dark rooms of your heart and saying, "Come in here too." Healing isn't always instantaneous, but it's always real when God is involved.

You don't need to be whole before you draw near to God. You just need to be willing to let Him work where it hurts.

Micro-message

God doesn't ask you to be perfect. He asks you to be honest.

Prayer

Lord, I open the areas that hurt to You. Heal what is broken. Enter where no one else has entered. I trust Your process. Amen.
