Day 7 · Discover
The rest you need
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28
Jesus did not say, "Come to me, you who have everything figured out." He said, "Come to me, you who labor and are heavy laden." His invitation is specifically for the exhausted, the overwhelmed, those who feel like they can't take it anymore.
We live in a culture that glorifies being busy. "How are you?" — "Very busy." As if busyness were a trophy. But Jesus offers something countercultural: rest. Not the passive rest of doing nothing, but deep rest for your soul. Rest that lets you breathe, let go of the weight, and remember that not everything depends on you.
Giving God time is not adding one more task to your list. It's allowing Him to take burdens off that list. It is to sit at His feet and let your soul rest, even though everything is still moving outside.
Today is day 7. A day of spiritual rest. Take a deep breath. Let go of what weighs you down. And repeat Jesus' invitation as if he were saying it in your ear: "Come to me. I will give you rest."
Prayer
Jesus, I come to You tired. I take Your invitation and lay my burdens at Your feet. Give me the rest that only You can give. Amen.
