Day 52 · Live
Work as worship
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men." — Colossians 3:23
Your work — whether it's in an office, a kitchen, a classroom, or a workshop — is an act of worship when you do it for the glory of God. Paul transforms the perspective of work: you don't work for your boss, for a salary, or for a performance evaluation. You work for the Lord.
This doesn't mean that you ignore your boss or that you don't care about your salary. It means that the deepest motivation of your work is to honor God with excellence, integrity, and love in every task, no matter how small.
When you see your work as worship, everything changes. Monday is no longer a curse. Monotonous tasks become opportunities for faithfulness. Difficult coworkers become neighbors to love. And the quality of your work becomes a sermon without words.
Giving God time in the morning transforms your workday. When you start the day in His presence, you take His presence with you to your workplace. You are salt and light in every meeting, every project, every interaction.
Today, before you begin your work, say to him, "Lord, this is for you."
Prayer
Lord, today I dedicate my work to You. May every task be an act of worship and excellence for Your glory. Amen.
