Day 44 · Live
The Power of an Invitation
"Philip said to him, 'Come and see.'" — John 1:46
When Nathanael doubted Jesus, Philip did not give him a theological sermon. He did not show him historical evidence. He simply said, "Come and see." Three words that changed a life forever.
Current research shows that the number one reason people visit a church is because someone personally invited them. Not an ad on social media. Not a flyer. Not a special event. A personal invitation from someone they trust.
And yet, most believers never invite anyone. Not out of malice, but out of fear: fear of rejection, fear of making people uncomfortable, fear of not knowing what to say. But you don't need to have all the answers. You just need to say, "Come and see. Come with me this Sunday to Emmanuel Covenant Church. Come and see what God is doing."
Statistics reveal that more than 80% of people who don't attend a church would go if someone invited them. But no one has asked them. What if you were that person?
Today, think of one person who could benefit from this community of faith. And simply invite them. "Come and see."
Prayer
Lord, lay on my heart someone who needs to know You. Give me the courage to invite. Amen.
